The 2024 Fire and Disaster Prevention Technology Industry Exhibition was held at the Yangjae AT Center for three days starting on the 12th. This magazine had an in-depth interview with Ha Tae-jun, CEO of JRMS Co., Ltd., a company specializing in firefighting and earthquake-resistant equipment. Below is the full interview. Q. What kind of company is JRMS? A. As a company that prioritizes customer safety, we are a firefighting and earthquake-resistant equipment company established in 2017. Our main business is supplying firefighting equipment for nuclear power plants and seismic isolation devices required for earthquake-resistant design. In particular, we are a domestic exclusive supplier of PVSTOP, which is used exclusively in the event of solar panel fires in solar power generation facilities, which is rapidly increasing these days. This is a supply company. Q. Could you please introduce your main products? A. Our main product, a fire extinguisher specifically for solar panels, is produced only in the world by a company called PVSTOP in Australia, and since the current market for fire extinguishers specifically for solar panels is in its infancy, there are no exact standards even in Europe or the United States. Therefore, this product has received test reports from the world’s leading verification agencies. This product is currently being used by many firefighters in London, New York, and Sydney, and in particular, Singapore has legislated our PVSTOP product so that it is mandatory to install it in all places with solar power facilities. If you look at these cases, developed countries are aware that solar panel fires are different from regular fires and are very difficult to extinguish, and are responding accordingly. 
Q. Why is a fire extinguisher specifically for solar panels necessary? A. Due to the nature of solar panels, they are installed outside, and as the seasons change, they freeze and thaw repeatedly, causing them to age and their insulation to gradually deteriorate. Panels that continuously receive energy from the sun are connected to each other. Because of this, very high voltage flows and many dangerous situations occur. Fires are on the rise these days. Q. Is it difficult to extinguish a solar panel fire with a typical ABC fire extinguisher? A. I think it's almost impossible. First of all, due to the nature of solar panel fires, it is a problem that fire extinguishing agents penetrate and cannot lead to a fundamental fire extinguishing reaction, but in particular, energy is continuously supplied from solar power, and adjacent panels exchange energy with each other, causing the fire to continue. It has a characteristic that cannot but be achieved. Therefore, our PV stop is a product that blocks the source of energy and enables effective fire extinguishment with the effect of covering the suffocating fire extinguishing vesicle. Q. I heard that PVSTOP is the exclusive domestic supplier of solar panel fire extinguishers? A. Yes, that's right. It is the only one in Korea. However, it is still a very early market, and demand is low because solar panels themselves have not been properly distributed in Korea. However, in the future, the number of customers who require this product not only for solar fires but also for higher-level firefighting facilities is expected to increase. I'm watching. 
Q. Please explain about the seismic isolation device. A. Assuming that there is a primary pipe and a secondary pipe coming from the pump in a fire pump facility, if the joint part of the pipe is damaged due to an earthquake or impact, the entire pipe will not work, so the pipe itself will be damaged to some extent. You can think of it as a device that prevents damage to major joints through flexible clearance. Q. Could you please brag about JRMS? A. All of our JRMS executives and employees are doing their job as if it were their own work, not the company's job. In addition, we are a company that actively accepts new things and works from the customer's perspective as if their problems were our own. Q. Lastly, any words of determination? A.
