The special polymer agent, which is the main material of solar panels, does not burn easily, but the plastic backsheet and structure of the panel are combustible. Therefore, there is a risk of combustion expanding and if a fire breaks out, it becomes a social problem. However, in Korea, there are no statistics or fire-fighting measures, so in-depth research and fire-fighting measures are needed. 
■ Blocking sunlight is the only way to stop the risk of electric shock. Solar panels continue to generate high-voltage power (energy) as long as sunlight exists. Even if the panel fire is extinguished, the risk of electric shock due to high voltage current still exists. So blocking sunlight is the only way to stop energy generation. |
